we remember our White, who was the Don of his area. Swift and agile, no other dog dared to mess with him. He had a charming personality. Just like other dogs, he knew the usual time of our arrival and used to wait in advance to run along in joy. That is when this picture was taken and our Budhi Kaali was trying to move away from his path to avoid bashing.

White significantly mellowed down when he was taken by VSAWRD for neutering and he returned with swollen red genitals and a badly clipped bleeding ear. Atleast they spared his life. A complaint lodged with the administration and the police of course fell on deaf ears. A week of medication later he was all right but we never saw his cheery self ever again. In due course of time, he migrated, which sterilized stray dogs seldom do when food is ensured every day.

We last saw him during the COVID-19 lockdown. Ever since his antics and smile remain a memory.
