Gabbar and his clan were a delight to watch. His mother was timid, his sister overtly friendly, his brother was his shadow and he was turning out to be don in the making. Then one day during the monsoon, although it was not raining, none of them could be spotted. A search later we learned that when they ran to seek refuge in an under-construction plot, all four got electrocuted. The locals then informed the electricity board and many human lives that could have been lost were saved. But was it not too heavy a price, the lives of four precious stray dogs who looked forward to love, food and care every day? We lost them in 2017 but the pain remains. Processing four losses in one go is difficult.
